Weather anchor says she got ‘death threats’ for interrupting Tiger Woods’ Masters triumph – By Russia Today Newsroom (Russia Today) / April 15 2019
Ella Dorsey, a weather presenter for Atlanta’s CBS46, said she was bombarded with “death threats” after cutting into Tiger Woods’ Masters victory to make a tornado warning.
The network cut into several minutes of live coverage, splitting the screen and leaving viewers unable to watch the tremendous comeback of the golf legend, who won his first major since 2008.
Networks are allowed to interrupt programming in case of extreme weather which could potentially threaten lives.
Dorsey, who warned Atlanta residents of a potential tornado, said she received numerous negative comments, including death threats, for cutting into the live coverage.

“To everyone sending me death threats right now: you wouldn’t be saying a damn thing if a tornado was ravaging your home this afternoon. Lives are more important than 5 minutes of golf. I will continue to repeat that if and when we cut into programming to keep people safe,” she wrote.
