FreedomWorks Has Traitor Awards for Sens Against Repeal – By Solange Reyner / July 19 2017
The conservative group FreedomWorks said Wednesday it will dole out a “Freedom Traitors Award” to Republican senators who refuse to vote for the GOP healthcare bill, CNS News reported.
Jason Pye, the Vice President of Legislative Affairs for FreedomWorks, said during a conference call of conservative leaders the award will be sent to the senators’ offices, along with busts of famous traitor Benedict Arnold.
“We can discuss replacement later, but this law has, we’ve seen premiums increase . . . five states are down to one insurer in the marketplace, dozens of counties are down to zero insurers in the market place,” Pye said. “Lower premiums promote individual choice and give taxpayers relief from Obamacare.”
The Republican senators opposing the bill are Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Rob Portman of Ohio, Susan Collins of Maine, and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia.
