Donald Trump Jr. said he doesn’t plan on running for political office anytime soon, but isn’t taking it off the table.
President Trump’s eldest son told Bloomberg he’s focused on getting “the country back on track,” but “as for the future, I never want to rule it out.” “I definitely enjoy the fight. I definitely like being out there and I love being able to see the impact and the difference that it makes on these people’s lives that I get to see all over the country,” he said Wednesday.
Trump Jr. frequently campaigns on behalf of his father and other Republicans around the country. He has led the Trump Organization with his brother Eric since their father became president.
“My father decided to get into politics at 68. I’m 41, I’ve got plenty of time,” he said.
Trump Jr. reportedly said in 2017 he had interest in running for governor of New York. Gov. Andrew Cuomo won a third term in 2018 but Trump Jr. did not challenge him.
