Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) has been charged for pulling a fire alarm in a House office building ahead of a government spending vote last month, authorities said on Wednesday.
D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb levied one misdemeanor count of falsely pulling a fire alarm against Bowman for the incident on September 30, according to court documents. Bowman has been ordered to report to the U.S. Capitol Police headquarters on Thursday to be booked, fingerprinted, photographed, and processed. He is expected to appear in D.C. Superior Court at 9:30 a.m.
The charge Bowman faces carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail, as reported by NBC News.
