Did you hear about the latest protest in Sports? Nope, some players are still taking a knee or sitting. Nope, NASCAR still holds their pre-race prayer on live tv. Nope there isn’t a scandal into the Cleveland Browns having a winning attitude.
Have the battles between players & referees/umpires gone too far? MLB umpires are taking a stand and wearing white wristbands to voice their opinion.
Wait?! To voice their displeasure with the constant verbal battles with players and coaches, MLB umps are gonna flash white wristbands like Wonder Woman’s bracelets?
I love sports! I’ll watch football all day if I could; College all day Saturday, Pros all day Sunday, throw in the NHL and some NASCAR, hell even some Curling and I’m happy chap.
But a long time ago, I truly fell away from Pro Baseball. I understand they have an incredibly long season with many miles traveled. They are great athletes, but they are also (in my opinion) some of the biggest divas in Sports. Complain about the strike zone all you want, but blame the player.
Yes I said blame the player. Some crowd the plate while others keep massive distance. Yeah calling a ball outside when it crosses the corner is a judgment to question, but you took the chance on not swinging as well.
Players stretched their pants to their ankles, while teams raised the chest emblems on uniforms in attempts to widen the strike zone. Do you really believe it’s a comfort level as to why they do it?
Competitive attitudes are on the rise, whether it’s on the fields or in the cubicles, hell even a game of monopoly can turn aggressive. When everything gets heated, go after the rules and the authority that induce those rules and stop worrying if you’re gonna make the ESPN highlight reel – PB/TK
