Radio Host Craig Silverman Says He Was Fired Mid-Show For Criticizing Trump: ‘I See Corruption and Blatant Dishonesty’ – By Khaleda Rahman (Newsweek) / Nov 17 2019

A talk radio host has claimed he was fired mid-show after criticizing President Donald Trump.

Craig Silverman told The Denver Post that he had been in the middle of a segment about Roy Cohn, Trump’s former personal attorney, on the conservative KNUS radio station when he was told by the station’s program director that he was “done.”

Silverman, who had hosted The Craig Silverman Show on Saturday mornings at the station for more than five years, told The Post that his last segment before he was taken off the air had been to “observe how toxic Trump is in Colorado.”

He also took to Twitter after his sudden dismissal to say he would not “toe strict Trump party line.”

Silverman’s program is no longer listed on the station’s website. Newsweek has contacted Silverman and KNUS for comment.

Colorado State Rep. Dylan Roberts responded to Silverman’s firing by saying it was a “sad day for Colorado and the First Amendment.” He added on Twitter: “Toe the Trump line instead of talking about law and facts if you want a show?’

Silverman responded by thanking Roberts and added that he would not turn a blind eye to the “corruption and blatant dishonesty by the President and his cronies.”
