Trump Mulls Replacing Tillerson With CIA Director Pompeo: Report – By William Steakin (ijr.com) / Oct 6 2017
Amid swirling reports pointing to tension between President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, current CIA Director Mike Pompeo has reportedly been floated as a replacement at the U.S. Department of State.
According to Axios, Trump is “comfortable” with Pompeo and already seeks out the director’s advice on topics ranging from immigration to the mechanisms behind Congress.
Trump also doesn’t view Pompeo as a “showboat,” according to the report, something the president has reportedly felt about Tillerson following the media’s frenzy over their reported deteriorating relationship.
However, the White House understands another cabinet shuffle, just a week after Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price resigned amid controversy, would only intensify the negative press coverage.
Pompeo would likely accept the position, according to the report, as a “cap to a career that included being a U.S. House member from Kansas.”
Friction between Trump and Tillerson erupted onto the public stage after NBC News reported that the secretary of state strongly considered resigning before Vice President Mike Pence walked him back.
And while Tillerson denied that aspect of the report, he specifically dodged answering whether or not he called the president a “moron.”
Trump has publicly stated he still has confidence in Tillerson, shifting his ire toward the media by suggesting the Senate Intelligence Committee should investigate news outlets over fake news.

PB/TK – POTUS Donnie thinks Sec Tillerson is a “showboat” and enjoying the media attention. Um, yet people say he’s hard to work with because he hides in his office all day. I’m guessing every other month we’re gonna hear about POTUS being upset and wanting to replace someone, so gotta ask are these people collecting a Gov pension even though they worked a few months?
