Conservative Trump Supporter Narrowly Loses Virginia Primary – By Susan Jones / June 14 2017

“I am running for governor to take back Virginia from the establishment and political elites in Richmond,” conservative Republican candidate Corey Stewart said on his campaign website.
He came very close to winning in Tuesday’s primary election.
Stewart – who served as Donald Trump’s campaign chairman in Virginia – got 155,743 votes (42.5 percent) to the 160,060 votes (43.7 percent) cast for establishment Republican Ed Gillespie, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee.
A third Republican candidate, Frank Wagner, got 50,387 votes (13.8 percent).
