Report: DOJ Seeks Google Data in Roger Stone Probe – By Todd Beamon (Newsmax) / June 11 2019

The Justice Department has ordered Google to provide upload dates on eight YouTube posts to help put together events in its investigation against former Trump adviser Roger Stone, according to documents disclosed Tuesday.

In a June 5 order viewed by Forbes, the Justice Department is seeking upload dates of the videos in developing a timeline of Stone’s public statements about alleged ties to WikiLeaks and the site’s publishing of stolen Democratic Party emails in 2016.

The videos were uploaded by various YouTube accounts, not by Stone or Wikileaks, according to Forbes.

Google, which owns YouTube, said in a statement: “We have a well-established process for managing requests for user data. We only respond to valid legal requests, and don’t comment on specific cases.”

The Justice Department did not disclose why it was seeking the YouTube information. The agency declined to comment further.

The footage includes Stone’s appearances at Republican events in Florida and on right-wing sites like “InfoWars” and the National Rifle Association, along with public comments from Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

In a Florida speech, Stone said he had spoken to Assange — but later said he had only done so through an intermediary.

In January, Russia special counsel Robert Mueller alleged in an indictment that Stone had lied to the House Intelligence Committee in 2017 about his WikiLeaks contacts and stolen emails from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton campaign manager John Podesta.

Federal authorities arrested Stone in an early-morning raid at his Florida home. He was released on $250,000 bond.

Stone, 66, has pleaded not guilty to making false statements, obstruction of a government investigation and witness tampering.
