More than 100 injured as Israeli police clash with Palestinians at holy site in Jerusalem – By Amy Coles (Sky News) / May 10 2021
Palestinians said stun grenades were fired into the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, leaving at least 275 hurt, according to reports.
Hundreds of people have been injured after clashes between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli police inside a Jerusalem holy site.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said more than 275 Palestinian worshippers were injured and at least 205 taken to hospital following violence at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
Multiple people are said to be in critical condition and police said 12 officers were injured.
An Associated Press photographer who witnessed the clashes said that some worshippers had barricaded gates to the compound with wooden boards and scrap metal.
