Government Consultant Charged With Sharing Top-Secret Information With China – By Sam Dorman / June 22 2017
Virginia resident Kevin Mallory, 60, could face the death penalty after federal authorities charged him on Thursday with allegedly sending top-secret documents to a suspected Chinese agent.
FBI agents found Mallory, in uncovered communications, told the alleged Chinese agent, “Your object is to gain information, and my object is to be paid.” On Thursday, authorities arrested Mallory and he appeared in a district court in Alexandria, Virginia, the Associated Press reported
Revealed in Mallory’s communications, the Chinese agent responded: “my current object is to make sure your security and to try to reimburse you.”
FBI agents also found classified documents on one of Mallory’s devices. He is charged under the Espionage Act.
